Our Sumac originates from Turkey. This product is ground from whole berries and is typically deep burgundy in color. The flavor is sour, astringent, and acidic. Use ground sumac like lemon juice or vinegar to brighten dishes. Salt is added as a processing aid.
This is a tangy spice with a hint of lemon flavor. This ingredient is frequently called for in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern recipes. Sprinkle it on your salad in place of lemon juice. Use it wiht your rub mixture for grilled meat and fish. It’s also delicious sprinkled over hummus.
Make sure to store in a cool, dry, dark location and in an air-tight storage container for best freshness.
