Whole Cloves have a strong, rich flavor and can be used in a variety of applications, such as with meat stews, desserts, fruit dishes, and beverages. Stud a ham or onion with these and have a delicious meal or a great flavoring in stews.
Whole Cloves come from the clove tree that is native to Indonesia. Cloves are flower buds that are harvested before they open and then dried. They have a nail-like, pointed shape, with a rounded end. They are commonly used to flavor hot drinks such as hot apple cider or mulled wine. You will also find whole cloves as a primary ingredient in chai spice mixes.
